Blowers and Grafton Lobster Boil Date Night

This year we decided we would try more things. We love to fit in date nights as a couple, but also enjoy hanging out with other happy midlifers! How about you?

Sometimes planning an outing with another couple is a great excuse to do something out of the ordinary, and for us prairie folk, what's more out of the ordinary than a Lobster Boil?!

A new restaurant came to town called Blowers & Grafton . Their motto is

"Where Halifax street food meets east coast hospitality"

and you really do feel transformed to a little getaway when you dine in. It's a great place to eat, with lots of energy and friendly staff!

Every quarter, they host a Lobster Boil, which is essentially a ginormous platter filled with one entire lobster per person cooked to perfection, lots of delicious baby potatoes, corn on the cob, shrimp and mussels. Wow! We couldn't even finish it all!

I have to admit I was hesitant to rip my cute little buddy apart (remember, I'm a prairie girl!) Our experienced friend showed us how it's done! ☟ (and yes, you heard correct, she did "get us" with flying debris) haha!! And we had so much fun we forgot to get a group photo! :(

To sooth my squeemishness I was consoled with a tub of garlic butter. Ahhh butter. Pretty much the answer to all problems, am I right? 😋

It was our first, but will not be our last. We loved it, and will be back! Their Alberta Canada restaurants are in Sherwood Park, Edmonton, Calgary, and soon in Lethbridge.

Have you ever had a date night at a Lobsterfest or Lobsterboil? What was your favourite part?
