Our biggest life tip yet

When we first were dating at age 18,  it was Warren who knew first.  He knew with every inch of his being that I was the one for him. It was like a literal voice from above said “don’t let this one go, or it will be your worst mistake ever”, and he took that voice very seriously. (and no, that voice wasn’t coming from me hahaha!)

When you've been together as long as we have (working on year 36), you know that plans change many many times.  Life hands you a lot of spectacular and surprising moments that you could never have imagined, and a lot of miserable, wretched ones too.  That’s life, and nobody gets away without a little of both. But when you have someone that will roll with it every step of the way, well that one's a keeper! Don’t let them slip away, and treat them like the gift that they are.

The trick here is, you have to also be the one that will roll with the ups and downs for your hunny. You’re a team, we say that a lot, it’s true. What you expect from them, you need to give as well.  When they are your person, and you are loving them hard, with a clear uncomplicated heart, well then going through those ups and downs of life together should be the simple part.  Tackle the struggles together. Celebrate each exciting moment together. The together part, that’s the secret, and that will be your strength through it all.

We would get asked many times throughout our 20’s as our friends one by one met people they really really liked, “how do you know when it’s the right one?” .  Our standard answer?  

You just do.

We dare to say this as well; if you have to ask, it's quite possible that's not the right one after all.
